Tasty Tuesdays // Lemon Bars

Our place overlooks a lemon orchard park. 

Which is SO convenient when you forget to pick up lemons at the store to make lemon bars

1 1/3 cup[s] all-purpose flour
5 TBLS light brown sugar
8 TBLS cold butter, cut in cubes
4 large eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups powder sugar
3/4 cup fresh lemon juice
2 tsp lemon zest


Preheat oven to 350

Food processor or Blender:
flour + brown sugar
+ butter PULSE + butter PULSE + butter PULSE...etc
Sprinkle crust into a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan
pack down with spatula
BAKE for 20 min

Kitchen Aid Mixer [whip attachment]
+ eggs BLEND
+ vanilla + 3/4 cup powder sugar
+ lemon juice + remaining powder sugar
MIX until sugar DISSOLVED
+ zest


hot crust + lemon filling 
REDUCE oven to 300
BAKE for 30 min

Let them cool. Sprinkle powder sugar on top. ENJOY


>>The crust must be HOT when you pour on the lemon mixture

>>You'll need approximately three lemons to yield the amount of juice and zest in this recipe.

>>Don't make the mistake of putting wax paper on the bottom of your baking dish //like i did
